EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Chryler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The side marker lights may not function due to an incompatible tail light assembly wiring harness. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Remedy: FCA will replace the tail light assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 26, 2022 and August 3, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is Z43.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. The high voltage (HV) battery pack assembly was built with incorrect fasteners to secure the 200-amp fuse, which can generate excessive heat.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the HV battery fuse, as necessary. Dealers will also inspect the battery assembly for damage and replace it, if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 8, 2022. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. RE: SAFETY COMPLAINT FOLLOWING RECALL 68C (NHTSA Recall Number 24V-111 / Mopar 68C) I am the owner of a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. Prior to having safety recall 68C performed, the hybrid system functioned flawlessly. Immediately upon receiving the vehicle back from the dealership after the 68C software flash, a severe drivability and safety hazard emerged. When driving in standard Hybrid/Electric mode, the vehicle experiences a sudden loss of power, hesitation, and a physical 'bogging down' sensation. Following this lag, the vehicle violently surges into gasoline mode, causing a sudden and unpredictable acceleration lurch after the vehicle hesitates to accelerate. This behavior occurs randomly at both low neighborhood speeds and highway speeds, making it impossible to smoothly modulate throttle input. This creates an immediate safety hazard when attempting to pull out into cross-traffic, merge onto highways, or maintain a safe, predictable following distance. The vehicle hesitates when throttle is demanded, creating a risk of being rear-ended, followed by an uncommanded surge. The dealership states the vehicle is 'operating as designed' according to a regional Jeep field engineer, implying this dangerous lag-and-surge behavior was intentionally introduced into the vehicle's management software by the manufacturer to mitigate, the recall notice noted above, battery thermal risks at the expense of occupant driving safety. The manufacturer’s recall remedy has traded a fire risk for an active moving traffic hazard." Several forums and AI searches show this is a common problem the manufacturer has created to avoid a costly recall by addressing the real issue with the battery’s fire risk. Instead they have intentionally reduce the battery’s performance causing a safety issue with the vehicle’s acceleration and operation.

My 2022 Jeep Wrangler is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V363000 involving power steering wiring that may overheat and cause a vehicle fire. I was advised of the safety risk and informed that repair parts are not expected to be available until approximately August 2026. Due to the risk of fire, I do not feel safe keeping this vehicle at my home or parked near my residence until the recall repair is completed. The dealership has advised that no repair is currently available. I am requesting assistance from the manufacturer, including alternate transportation, a loaner vehicle, or other accommodations, until the safety defect can be repaired. I believe it is unreasonable to require owners to continue possessing a vehicle with a known fire risk while the recall remedy is unavailable for an extended period.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles equipped with 2.0L Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle engines. A loss of communication may cause an engine shutdown.
Remedy: There is more than one involved component and calibration software. Updating the calibration software in the Transmission Control Module, Hybrid Control Processor and Auxiliary Hybrid Control Processor that changes fail safe from shut down to limp home. Dealers will update the transmission control module software, Hybrid Control Processor and Auxiliary Hybrid Control Processor, free of charge. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler, and 2020-2023 Jeep Gladiator vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. The clutch pressure plate may overheat and fracture.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the clutch assembly and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed from November 16, 2023 through July 25, 2024. The rearview camera may fail to display the rearview image and the reverse lights may not illuminate when the vehicle is placed in reverse. A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Remedy: Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. I had to bring the shuddering vehicle across multiple lanes of traffic to pull over and stop the vehicle to stop the violent shuddering. Vehicle is stock.

When driving down the road my jeep goes into an uncomfortable death wobble. It has already been to a dealer to fix this once but it isn’t . There is a weld defect in the driver side front and passenger door frame . When the electronics get hot from the summer heat they black out . The digital display is not calibrated to the odometer of the vehicle . The Jeep surges violently and almost caused a collision.

After the latest 68C recall fix, Jeep has adjusted the behavior of how the vehicle's electric mode operates. When the battery gets to a certain temperature when driving, the engine is supposed to turn on (to prevent the fire risk hazard). However, instead of the vehicle making the powertrain switch, the vehicle power will just stop. The pedal will go to the floor but no forward movement. It is dangerous in many driving situations, like the highway or among other vehicles when mine unexpectedly stops. Jeep has tried to fix this exact issue in 3 separate recalls, but it still occurs. They should buy back the vehicles as they seem to not be able to fix and they are not safe to drive.

I own a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon that is included in FCA Recall 21D (NHTSA Recall 26V-363). According to FCA, high resistance electrical activity in the electric hydraulic power steering pump connection may cause overheating of combustible materials and potentially result in a vehicle fire. FCA and NHTSA have advised owners to park affected vehicles away from structures and other vehicles until a remedy is available. On or about June 2026, I contacted my local dealership, Lee Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, 3700 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, NC 27896, to schedule the recall repair. I was informed that there are currently no repair parts available and no remedy available. I was further advised that there is nothing I can do to prevent the defect from occurring and that the dealership would not notify me when parts become available. The only recommendation provided was not to park near anything flammable. My Jeep is my primary means of transportation, and I rely on it daily for work and family obligations. I continue making payments and maintaining insurance on a vehicle that the manufacturer acknowledges may present a fire risk. I believe it is unreasonable and unsafe to expect consumers to continue operating these vehicles without an available remedy or meaningful assistance. I have enrolled in the Mopar notification system to be notified when repair parts become available. I request that NHTSA review FCA's handling of this recall and determine whether additional action is necessary to protect affected consumers.
VISIBILITY/WIPER
The windshield on my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe appears to have optical distortion that causes significant glare and visibility problems when driving in direct sunlight. The windshield is available for inspection upon request. The problem affects my ability to clearly see the roadway, traffic, and other vehicles when sunlight hits the windshield. The distortion creates a wavy or blurry appearance that can be distracting and reduces visibility, creating a potential safety hazard while driving. The condition has been reproduced and confirmed by me on multiple occasions. The vehicle was inspected by Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Wilmington, North Carolina, but warranty coverage was denied. The windshield has not been involved in an accident and there are no warning lights, messages, or other vehicle symptoms associated with this issue. The problem appears to be related to the windshield glass itself rather than any electronic system. The issue has been present for an extended period of ownership and is most noticeable during sunny conditions when light strikes the windshield at certain angles. I am filing this complaint because the visibility distortion creates a safety concern and I believe the windshield may have a manufacturing defect.

My Jeep will not operate correctly in the electric mode after a software update that was required to resolve a recall. The vehicle loses power in the electric mode and surges into the gasoline mode suddenly. This occurs after the vehicle has been driven a while and when the battery level drops below 50%. The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster displayed a black screen. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or a dealer. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,050.

Multiple recalls on jeep 4xe starting with the hybrid system from charging to the battery. Ultimately not fixable per Stellantis. Now electrical components in steering that present possible fire hazard at anytime. Not to mention the fact that if it can cause a fire, then the steering could fail in some unexpected way while driving, leading/contributing to an accident with serious injury or death. These combined make the car generally unreliable, potentially unsafe, and increase depreciation.
